Parto - Sound Instalation Aquófono
Aquófono is a newly created audible device, a percussion instrument with liquid, the operation of which is based in water and electricity. The mixture between infinite rhythm of adjustable drops and spurts of water and the possible interventions of the movement of body and other objects on the trajectory of the liquid favours the creation of an enormous range of unique and unrepeatable sound fantasies. This interactive open facility is like an audiovisual randomness laboratory, the visitors of which can play, intervene and connect in present continuous with space, air, water, light, video projection and sound of the Aquófono. Parto is a duet of percussionists who extemporize, formed in 1999. Since they participated in Festival Alternativa ’03 in Sala NASA of Santiago de Compostela, they have carried out several presentations of Aquófono in different formats and places, such as Casa das Campás, in Pontevedra; Villa de les Arts del Rabat, Barcelona; Teatro Valle-Inclán, Madrid; MARCO, Vigo; Castillo de San Felipe, Ferrol, and A Chocolatería in Santiago de Compostela, the latter being part of the programme of XI International Dance Festival “En Pé de Pedra”, in co-production with dancer Daniel Abreu. Parto is also one of the most active promoters of extemporize music in Vibrational Sessions for NASA in Compostela and the main meeting point of O.m.e.ga. (Spontaneous Music Orchestra of Galicia).
