Animal | Daniel Abreu [15/06]

The mixture between dance and action, a unique feature of the aesthetics of Daniel Abreu’s company, is also present in this delusive journey through fight, need, rest, love and emotional kidnapping. Animal is a choreographic work for five performers that talks about the need and the desire in a flow of frames and scenes, of actions related to the idea of animality and survival. Impulses, instincts and emotional physical reactions to extreme situations draw a suggestive daily life full of physicality and emotion.

Since its foundation in 2004, Daniel Abreu’s company has presented over thirty choreographic works defined by a common hallmark: halfway between dance and action, the shows are presented as journeys, as acting images. The company has a great presence in American, European and Asian stages and it has been part of Aerowaves selection in 2009 and 2011. Additionally, Daniel Abreu is one of the artists in the European programme Modul-Dance.
